Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with strong construction accounting experience and deep, hands-on expertise in Sage Intacct Construction to join our growing finance team. This role requires a self-directed professional who can own month-end close, build reports from the ground up, and lead junior accounting staff.

This position is not entry-level and is best suited to someone who has already worked independently in a construction or project-based accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
• Support job costing, WIP, and project-related accounting as needed
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Use Sage Intacct Construction for accurate and efficient financial reporting
• Identify and help implement process improvements, including automation and AI solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Senior Accountant responsibilities
• Demonstrated experience in construction or project-based accounting
• Strong, hands-on experience with Sage Intacct Construction (required; not just exposure)
• Proven ability to build reports independently, not just run existing templates
• Experience leading or mentoring junior accounting staff
• Strong understanding of month-end close, job costing, and financial reporting
• High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CPA candidate considered an asset
