GANANOQUE, Ontario. – July 3, 2025 – Horizon Legacy is on track to deliver the Gananoque Townhomes project on time and within budget, with move-in date set for Fall 2025. As one of Canada’s largest on-site robotic home construction initiatives, the project successfully completed its 3D printing phase last year, showcasing the effectiveness and viability of the technology.
“Our goal is to use modern technologies and processes to accelerate construction and reduce housing costs,” said Nhung Nguyen, CEO of Horizon Legacy. “We’re proving that a flexible, decentralized automation strategy can help solve Canada’s housing crisis and labour shortage.”

Canada continues to face a pressing housing shortfall, with CMHC forecasting that 4.8 million additional homes are needed in the next 10 years. At the same time, the construction industry is contending with an aging workforce and a shrinking pool of skilled trades. Horizon Legacy’s use of robotics offers a scalable solution—accelerating construction timelines, reducing cost, and delivering high-quality, sustainable homes that support long-term housing goals.
“With this achievement, we’re proving robotics can help address Canada’s housing and labour crisis,” said Archer Compton, Director of Strategic Growth of Horizon Legacy. “Automation isn’t about replacing workers—it’s about equipping them with new tools to build homes faster, with greater precision, and at lower costs. The technology exists; now it’s time to embrace it.”
Rental applications open on September 1, 2025, and can be submitted to hello@horizonlegacy.com. Move-in dates are anticipated for Fall 2025. A total of 30% of the units will be offered as affordable rentals, helping to address a critical challenge in the Leeds and Grenville Region.

Interior work is currently underway, with façade paneling and waterline connections nearing completion. Horizon Legacy’s construction manager, Automated Building Construction Corp. (ABC), played a pivotal role in enabling the successful integration of robotics and local trades on site and ensuring the project was completed on time and on budget.
The Gananoque Townhomes project marks a milestone in automated homebuilding, showing how robotics and local trades can work together to deliver high-quality housing. Horizon Legacy used on-site 3D printing alongside skilled local labour to create a hybrid workflow that boosted efficiency while supporting local employment. This collaborative approach demonstrates how automation can complement the local workforce, improve productivity, and benefit the local economy.

Horizon Legacy remains committed to pioneering robotics in housing construction and will share updates on upcoming projects and automation advancements in the months ahead. Horizon Legacy will be inviting the community to a grand opening of the project to celebrate this milestone. Interested parties are encouraged to join the Horizon Legacy mailing list to receive SMS updates and stay informed.
